Simple Joys
Summer is officially here, and I couldn't be happier.
This week felt like a good mix of productivity and slowing down. I traveled, got all of my new app content filmed, edited, and uploaded, and still made time for some of my favorite things.
I gardened with my daughter, watched baseball with my son, took walks with Patrick, and we squeezed in a family movie night.
One thing I really wanted to stay consistent with this week was walking. Travel can throw off routines, but I made it a priority and hit my walking goal every day. Sometimes I think we make health harder than it needs to be. This week reminded me that a daily walk goes a long way.
I’ve also been thinking a lot about summer and how I want this season to feel. My kids are growing up fast and so is time going by.
I keep coming back to three words: simple, joy, and align.
I want simple meals, more time outside, less rushing, and more time with the people I love. I want to be present enough to enjoy the season while it’s here.
At My Table
My daughter helped me film a recipe this week, which was extra special because she’s starting to get interested in content creation. We made a Lemon Vanilla Yogurt Bowl, and it’s exactly the kind of breakfast I love this time of year.
Fresh berries, lemon, a little crunch, and enough protein to keep me satisfied.
Lemon Vanilla Yogurt Bowl
1 cup yogurt of choice
1/2 cup Blueberries
1/4 cup Granola (local farmer’s market or homemade)
1 tsp Lemon juice
1 tsp chia seeds
Drizzle of Honey
Splash of Vanilla
Sprig of Fresh mint
Layer everything into a bowl and enjoy.
I served with 2 scrambled eggs for extra protein.
